While the competition may be the highlight of the event, the X Games also features a much-publicised music concert on each day as well as an environmental awareness campaign.

The X Games is split into the Summer X Games and the Winter X Games. The Winter X Games features snow-based events such as snowboarding, skiing and snowmobiling. The Summer Games features BMX, Moto X and skateboarding.
